If you believe everything you read on gear advertisments your going to end up with a bugout bag full of CRAP...
The truth is that most of the gear out there is made in China and completely worthless.
But here’s the thing: there a few pieces of gear that actually work and will save your life.
I have NO connection with any of the manufacturers of these products. I am listing these from personal experience and have no monetary incentive to choose these particular items!
How do I know this? Well, aside from the fact that I’ve carried and tested every pice of gear I list below, I’m also obsessed with staying up to date on the latest reviews and gear ratings.
Below you’ll find some of the gear that I have carried, tested, and proven to get you work, AND WORK WELL. This is the EXACT gear I carry all the time. I know these brands and I trust their products!
Wisport Reindeer 75L
The Wisport Reindeer was designed and is currently used by the Polish military.
I got this pack for personal because I hated the FILBE pack the Marine Corps uses.
I discovered that this is a great pack at a reasonable price!
This pack is not overly large, meaning it is large enough for your gear, and not so big its like carrying a house on your back.
I was pleased with how durable and easily adjustable this pack is. It is far lighter then any military pack I had used before.
Overall I would recommend this as one of the best, and most concealable packs for bug-out situations, or just hiking through the mountains.
Benchmade Bedlam
Benchmade is one of the best brands money can buy, and the Benchmade Bedlam is of of the best knives they make...at-least in my opinion.
I was given this knife upon graduation from boot camp and I have loved the Bedlam ever since.
This knife is large, strong, and wicked. Though its scimitar shaped blade is mainly from combat situations, it functions very well as a daily use knife.
I have the auto version, which is very strong and reliable.
There is one downside to this knife however: It is bulky, so if you wear skinny jeans or don't like heavy things in your pocket, this one's probably not for you.
Overall, This is a high quality knife made for hard use and I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone.
Spyderco Police
The Spyderco Police is one of my all time favorite knives. It is slim, light, and solid.
This is the knife I carry everyday because it is slim enough to fit comfortably in a back pocket, but large enough to provide alot of reach and protection.
This knife is well made with and very strong lock mechanism. This knife is cheap enough to be affordable, but still quality enough to provide excellent daily use.
I have carried this exact knife for over 4 years without any problems and consider it one of my favorite pieces of gear.
Belleville USMC Combat Boot
These are boots I have personally tried and used over and over. They are strong, rugged, and will withstand a lot of abuse.
I like combat boots because they are the best overall footwear for survival and these are some of the best you can buy.
Sure you can buy cheaper or lighter boots and many people have preferences of which boot is better, but speaking from personal experience, I can say these are high quality boots.
You get what you pay for and when you pay for these you are getting quality.
Emerson Super Karambit
Emerson is one of the BEST names in the knife industry. They have been making knives for years and have mastered the art of creating a deadly blade that is functional and practical.
The Emerson super Karambit is the larger brother of the Emerson Combat Karambit and in my opinion is far superior.
I have carried both, and in my opinion the Emerson Combat Karambit is just too small to be practical.
Though the Emerson Combat Karambit is issued, and carried, by sky marshals due to its deadliness in close quarters...
My opinion remains that the Super Karambit is the more useful of the two for daily use.
This knife is strong, fast, and deadly. Though it was made primarily for self defense and combat, it functions fine in utilitarian scenarios as well.
Though expensive, you get what you pay for...and this knife is worth the money!
